Our firm is proud to be involved in legislative processes in the automotive field and to be representing the Israel Vehicle Importers Association before the authorities. As such, we have been involved in legislative processes regulating the import and marketing of vehicles in Israel (e.g. the Services and Profession’s Licensing in the Vehicle Industry Law, 5776 – 2016).

Regulation and Import Licenses

Class Actions

Our firm has unique expertise in representing car importers and manufacturers in class action proceedings filed against them. Our firm handles a major part of the class action proceedings conducted in Israel against car importers and manufacturers.

These proceedings address, among other things, claims of defects and serial malfunctions in vehicles, consumer deception, and the relevant regulations for vehicle import and marketing in Israel.

Our attorneys accompany the clients from the initial stage of the litigation, and even before that, in an attempt to prevent the legal process altogether, and, of course, represent them through all stages of the litigation, aiming to achieve the best outcome for the client while minimizing legal and economic liability.

We also have substantial expertise in negotiating settlement agreements in class actions in the automotive field, as well as in the procedures for approving and implementing these settlements. The department’s team is knowledgeable in the relevant laws and practices in the field.

Commercial Agreements

Our team accompanies Israeli car importers, including the largest among them, in agreements for obtaining franchises and distribution rights for vehicle imports from car manufacturers worldwide and obtaining import licenses in Israel.

These agreements include distribution agreements, service agreements, warranty agreements, and all ancillary agreements.

Additionally, we advise importers and manufacturers on all matters related to the termination of distribution agreements.

Our firm also provides legal opinions on commercial agreements and drafts innovative arrangements in agreements related to privacy and data protection. As an integral part of the advice related to drafting and signing the agreement, our firm accompanies the clients in obtaining the relevant licenses from the Ministry of Transport and in all stages of the implementation of commercial and legal activities: agreements with garages and suppliers, sales processes on websites, creation of customer clubs, and more.
